A contractor you can stay with from start to finish.

Lake Home Improvement exists for homeowners who are done piecing a project together. Additions, renovations, framing, decks, and siding all live under one roof here. You talk to people who understand how a Bergen County house is built — and how it fails when the details are skipped.

We work out of the North Hackensack area and take jobs across Bergen County. That local focus matters. Town rules change from one municipality to the next. So do the houses: older stock, tight lots, additions that have to respect the original roofline. We plan for that instead of treating every job like a blank box.

How it feels to work with us

You should never wonder who is in charge of your house. From the first visit, you get a single point of contact, a written scope, and a crew that shows up to the job you actually agreed to. We explain what we are doing in plain language. If something in the walls changes the plan, you hear it from us — not after the invoice.

We invite you to walk the job with us. Ask questions. Point at the corner you care about. The best projects are the ones where the homeowner is informed, not surprised.

Ladder and gardening tools are visible in the yard.

What we believe about the work

Framing has to be square. Flashing has to keep water out. A deck has to feel solid under your feet. A finished basement has to stay dry. Those are not extras. That is the job. We would rather tell you the honest version of the scope than win the bid with a number that cannot survive the first inspection. An invitation

If you have been sitting on an addition, a renovation, or an exterior that is due, this is a good time to start the conversation. Call (201) 682-5090, or use the contact page and tell us the town and the project. We offer free estimates and a straightforward next step. We would like to earn the work on your home.
